Sri Mahaveera College in Moodabidre has been hosting the NCC annual training camp from May 20 to June 1. As many as 600 cadets including senior and junior boys and girls from 10 colleges and 12 high schools of the district are taking part in the 12 day camp.
According to a press release, the cadets are exposed to basic military training, weapon training, firing, physical exercise, obstacle training, community development and blood donation in the camp. The main objective of the camp is to inculcate qualities of self discipline, righteousness, spirit-de- corps, character building, courage, comradeship and ideals of selfless service in the youth of the country, the release added. Lt Col B Suresh Kumar is the Commanding Officer of the camp.
