Rohit Roy is one actor with loads on his hands. This year, the actor has added two more feathers to his cap. He will now not only be acting but also directing and producing films under his banner Magic Works. Excerpts from an interview:
What is your fitness mantra?
A healthy diet comprising mainly veggies, egg whites, fruits, vegetable juices and lots of water, a regular fitness routine including weights and cardio and above all, sound sleep for at least 7 hours. Even if I do miss out on weight training, I try and do an hour of running on the treadmill.
How do you maintain the energy levels throughout the day?
Positive thinking mainly… I almost never think about stuff that could bog me down.. Also, I surround myself with happy people.. And lastly I drink lots of water throughout the day which keeps me hydrated… an energy drink once in a while doesn't hurt!!!
In case of stress and fatigue, what do you do?
Try and sleep it off… don't like taking medicines too much unless it’s absolutely essential.
What is your best 'ghar ka khana'?
My mother’s egg curry and rice… it’s out of this world!
Do you have problems with muscle cramping during exercise or workouts? How do you handle exercise-related injuries?
Again it's water. Lots of it. It really helps you when your cramping. Also, just lie flat on the floor immediately to avoid injury.
What is the best health food recipe that you like to cook?
(Laughs)... Cooking and me! That'll be the day… but I do whip up an awesome French omelette… that's as far as I go. But I am determined to start cooking soon… so next time you interview me I will have something to say!!!
What, according to you, should one eat to remain healthy and fit?
One vegetable, one fruit, eggs, milk and lots of fluid every day. (Don't overdo it of course). Also, don't listen to gurus who ask you to abstain from dairy products. And the worst sin is following fad diets.
