Chennai region topped the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Examination with a pass percentage of more than 91 per cent.
The total pass percentage is 80.64 compared to last year’s 79.55 per cent. Girls have done better with a pass percentage of 85.02 compared to boys with pass percent of 77.37.
While the results of class XII examinations in Ajmer and Chennai were declared on May 23, results for the rest of the zones — Delhi, Guwahati, Panchkula, Allahabad — were announced on Friday.
“Overall pass percentage of Chennai region is 91.39 which is the highest as compared to other regions,” CBSE Chairman Ashok Ganguly told reporters here.
The southern region has maximum students in both the categories of scoring more than 90 per cent and more than 95 per cent.
Out of 8,120 candidates securing marks more than 90 per cent 2,609 are from Chennai region covering Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
Out of 514 students scoring more than 95 per cent 289 are from the southern region, Mr Ganguly said.
Students can get their results on their e-mail addresses by registering themselves on the websites — www.cbse.nic.in, www.results.nic.in and www.cbseresults.nic.in.

As many as 5,02,688 students from 4,789 CBSE affiliated schools had registered themselves with the Central Board of Secondary Education for the exam which was conducted across 2,243 centres across the country and 33 centres in foreign countries.
