Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh 's appeal to the Industralists to keep the nation's interest above corporate interests, is a futile and a desperate exercise. His concern no doubt is laudable, but as a economist he has failed to analyse the reasons for the present chaos. The disparity between the haves and nots is widening and wealth is being unequally distributed , but it is too late to check this growth.
In the meantime top executives deserve fat salary for their knowledge and contribution to the nation. On the contrary, there are innumerable politicians and bureaucrats who amass wealth and need to be checked as they are a liability to the Nation. Hence it would be wise on his part to evolve a code of conduct for his colleagues and set right his house in order and implement "Lok Pal " Bill to check the growing menace of corruption and draft needy and utilitarian policies to alleviate the poor and the farmers.
