Chikka claims title
DH News Service, Bangalore:

Thriving on home turf, Chikkarangappa shot a one-over-par 73 on the final day to finish with a tally of four-under-par 284 and win the Category A and B titles in the Eagleton Junior and Sub-Junior golf championship at the Eagleton Golf Resort here on Friday.
The 14-year-old from Rangagoadanaddi village carded four birdies and five bogeys in the final round and none of his rivals could catch up with him. Chikka had topped the leaderboard right from day one.
Terming the victory as a “good experience’”, the student of MPS school said he played safe in the last four holes to avoid any drama at the finish. In the end, he had a three-shot lead over the second-placed Amanjyot Singh of Jaipur. The latter carded a level-par 72 to end up with a tournament total of one-under-par 287.
The duo will resume their rivalry at the Bangalore Golf Club next week.

Majumdar third

Rommel Majumdar, a former champion in Category C at Eagleton, finished third with a tally of five-over-par 293 in Category A and became runner-up in Category B. Rashid Khan, who came fourth, shot the best card of the day — a one-under-par 71 along with eighth-placed Siddarth Semwal.
Rahul Ravi of Bangalore Golf Club emerged champion in Category C (11-12 years) with a total of 310 (22 over par). The boy from Malleswaram and a class seven student of NAFL won his fifth tournament of the year with a dominating 16-shot lead over second-placed Akash Srinivasan.
