Several IAS officers on Friday are said to have expressed serious displeasure over Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy’s remark that officers were not properly responding to people’s problems despite repeated directions.
According to sources, some senior IAS officers made known their displeasure during the monthly meeting of secretaries of various departments to review progress of work. Chief Secretary P B Mahishi chaired the meeting. Some officers learnt to have expressed their willingness to go on deputation to the offices of the Central government and a few of them have already given a written request to the Department of Personnel and Administrative Department, sources said. A senior officer is said to have expressed his anguish during the meeting by stating that: “We have not come to IAS to get abused by such dirty persons (politicians).”
Mr Kumaraswamy, who was scheduled to attend the meeting, remained absent as he had been to Ullal for the election campaign. Friday’s meeting reviewed implementation of e-governance project and clearing of files.
