Complaint filed against information officer
Bangalore, DHNS:

In the light of the Central Information Commission’s ruling that information should be furnished within 48 hours if the information sought pertained to human rights and corruption, the State Information Commissioner has registered a complaint against an Assistant Public Information Officer (APIO) within 24 hours of receiving an e-mail from an applicant. It has also asked the APIO to appear for hearing before the Commission on June 11.
The President of Mahiti Hakku Jagruti Vedike J S D Pani said that he had requested the APIO to inspect a file about recommending the promotion of an officer. The APIO had informed that the files were with senior officials and as soon as they returned, he would allow him to see them. Though the files returned, the APIO allegedly denied showing records to Mr Pani. The applicant sent an e-mail to the Commission a complaint was registered immediately.
