University of Agriculture Sciences, Bangalore is offering certificate course for farmers in organic farming. The course is offered as part of university’s initiative to create awareness among the farmers about sustainable farming and is offered in distance education mode.
Farmers who have passed seventh standard and possess working knowledge of Kannada are eligible to join the course. Admission fee of Rs 200 should be sent through postal order or demand draft to Comptroller, GKVK, Bangalore, 560 065.
The course is divided into 12 sections and study material and questionnaire of each section will be sent to ryots through post.
After studying, answers for questions should be sent to Distance Education Cell, Extension Directorate, University of Agriculture Sciences, Hebbala, Bangalore, 560 024 within stipulated time. Farmers will be awarded with certificates on successful completion of course.
Interested ryots are requested to avail application forms from Training Coordinator, Krishi Vijnana Kendra, Navile, Shimoga within May 30.
Since the certificate course is intended to create awareness among the ryots, UAS has said that farmers should not expect job in Government or other establishments on the basis of the certificate.
