Two women met watery grave, while eight are missing, in a gruesome incident that occurred due to the heavy rains that lashed Guledagudda on Sunday evening.
As many as 13 workers had been to Malaprabha left bank canal for the repair works.
Sridevi Badigera (55) and Gowravva Rangapp Bennur (35) drowned in the rain water and the rest of them are missing, villagers told Deccan Herald.
These workers were sitting under the bridge to take shelter from the rain, according to the villagers.
