Maintenance of proper sanitation demanded
DH News Service, Gulbarga:
Hyderabad Karnataka Janapara Sangharsha Samiti has expressed severe dismay over the deteriorating sanitary conditions in the city

Hyderabad Karnataka Janapara Sangharsha Samiti has expressed severe dismay over the deteriorating sanitary conditions in the city and has feared that epidemic may break out during the setting of the south west monsoon if immediate steps are not taken to improve the condition.
The Samiti president Lakshman Dasti said though water problem has more or less come to an end with many parts of the city getting water on alternate days, the Nagara Palike has totally forgotten the proper maintenance of sanitation in the city.

Underground drains
The underground drains are blocked at a number of places. Besides, the sewerage water is overflowing on the roads. The underground drains need immediate repairs, he added.
Dasti feared that there is a possibility of sewerage spreading everywhere after rain and the city would be at a great risk of inviting a number of diceases.
He said the Palike will be responsible if any epidemic breaks out in the city.
He acuused the Palike authorities of exploiting the civic workers working on daily wages. The civic workers who do the real sanitation work have been denied the due wages, he alleged.
Dastiu wanted the authoritis to immediately solve the problems of the civic workers to pave way for improvement in sanitation.
The Samiti has warned to launch an agitation if the Palike fails to address the issue of sanitation.
