South West Monsoon advanced into entire Coastal Karnataka and some parts of South Interior Karnataka on Tuesday.
Conditions are favourable for its further advancement into some more parts of interior Karnataka during the next 48 hours, according to Director of Metrology Department G S Vijay Raghavn.
He said the northern limit of monsoon clouds had touched Karwar and Chitradurga. As on Tuesday, Bangalore was not covered.
Under the influence of clouds, heavy rains are expected on Tuesday night along the coastal belt of Karantaka.
Mangalore and some parts of Dakshina Kannada district received rains on Monday night and Tuesday.
