Wild Life First, an NGO, has urged the State Government to recommend to the Fifth Pay Commission to upgrade the basic salaries of foresters and other frontline protection staff of the Karnataka Forest Department on par with other grade ‘ C’ govt employees.
In a letter to the CM, the NGO stated that there has been a noticeable difference in pay hike under the Fifth Pay Commission to Foresters compared to other Government employees of equivalent grade.
Meanwhile the Karnataka Forest Watchers Association in a press conference demanded that their salary, TA and DA be increased.
