City artists works in London

Ravikumar Kashi’s solo show of recent works titled ‘Any moment now’, which opened in Air Gallery, London on May 27, is a tongue-in-cheek exploration of expectations built around city life and proposed in the media.
The myriad collection of urban sights and experiences, images from dramatic ads, various media, hoardings and even pamphlets, have inspired this set of works. The displays comprise canvases using oil and acrylic colours as well as handmade paper works cast pulp.
Ravi told Metrolife before the show left for the UK, that he sees himself as a witness to his times.  ‘Any moment now’ is a continuation of the ‘City without end’ series by the artist that had its first show at Gallery Sumukha, and then moved to Chennai and later to California, USA. It is his first solo show in London and will be on till June 2. Mail Ravi at: ravikashi@hotmail.com
