We have won ten out of 14 games, and I am very happy with the efforts of the bowlers. They are doing a great job," the left-handed batsman said on Friday.
The Chennai side won both league encounters against Kings XI. "We are aware of that. But our confidence is higher at the moment. We are playing good cricket. We have identified areas in which we faltered, we have plans in place. If we execute plans, I see no reason why we can't win tomorrow," Yuvraj noted.
Shaun Marsh's awesome form has been a key reason for Kings XI's success. "It has been great to watch," Yuvraj remarked. "It has been very good for us. He has been an important player since his first game. I hope he does well tomorrow too."
On his own experiences as player and captain, the Indian one-day vice-captain said, "It is a learning curve. It was not easy when the tournament started, but I have been looking at other teams and captains and taking the positives. I have learnt a lot from watching the likes of Warne and Sehwag. It has been a fantastic experience and I think everyone will be a little bored when the IPL finishes!"
Domestic impact
And what impact will the IPL have on domestic cricket next season, with local talent looking to seal IPL slots? "There will be more fire in the younger boys," he replied. "I am sure it will affect domestic cricket positively. They will be hungry to do well in Ranji Trophy and get into the IPL. We beat them early with our best side, and later also when we had to redefine our composition," the Super Kings coach said on Friday evening. "There is a lot of confidence within the ranks, but the semifinal is an entity on its own. What happened in the past won't count for much. Tomorrow will be a 50-50 game; whichever team does the basics better and holds its nerve will have the better chance.
"We will go in with a slightly different combination. We have identified our eleven, but I wouldn't like to reveal it now,” he added.
