Dynamites would be used to blow up existing structures to pave the way for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Maya-wati’s dream project, “Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal”.
According to official sources here on Friday, the state government has allowed the public sector Rajkiya Nirman Nigam to use dynamites to demolish the three existing structures — Ambedkar museum, Library and an administrative block.
The demolition would be carried out in a couple of days, sources said.
Ironically Mayawati had herself inaugurated the structures worth over Rs 50 crores, during her previous tenure.
The new site plan for the ambitious “Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal” had no place for the existing structures and as such, they needed to be demolished, sources said.
The new plan provides for setting up a gallery to house a number of statues of BSP icons.
Experts from Tamilnadu had been roped in to carry out the work of demolition with the help of state government engineers, sources said.
Decks for the construction of the “Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal” were cleared following the vacation of the stay on it by the Supreme court. The decision had also raised a hue and cry from the city-based organisations.
