Wild as well as domesticated animals enjoyed a day-long feast of “omelettes” on Friday at Batlagundu, a small town in Tamil Nadu — after a truck accident.
“A truck carrying around 100,000 eggs from Namakkal to Kerala overturned here,” said said S Balanagamma, a resident.
The scorching heat of 40 degrees Celsius turned the broken eggs into omelettes. Foxes, stray dogs, domesticated cats and birds have been ceaselessly gorging on the free meal here,” he said.
The driver and his helper, who by mistake provided the huge meal, escaped with minor injuries, police officials said. Many curious onlookers gathered at the scene to watch the animals eat.
