After Shriya Saran, it was the turn of Mallika Sherawat to face the ire of Tamil Nadu’s “moral brigade”, which filed a police complaint against the Bollywood star over the issue of improper attire at a film function.
Hindu Makkal Katchi, a splinter group of the Hindu Munnani, lodged a complaint with the police saying that Mallika’s attire at the function to release audio-CDs of Kamal Haasan’s new film Dasavatharam had “hurt the sentiments of Hindus”.
Tamil Nadu’s Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Jackie Chan and Amitabh Bachchan were also present. The actress was actually accused of wearing transparent and skimpy clothes, which the activists did not like.
