Police seize vehicles

Hubli, dhns: City police on Saturday seized 23 vehicles reportedly belonging to supporters of Mr Santosh Lad, who is contesting the Assembly elections as Congress candidate from Kalghatagi constituency in Dharwad district. The vehicles were brought from Bellary and Hospet to campaign for Mr Lad, who filed his nomination papers at Kalghatagi on Saturday. The vehicles were seized in Old Hubli here when they were returning from Kalghatagi.

SP flays Yeddy’s remarks

Samajwadi Party (SP) members have condemned former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa for his reported remarks against the former chief minister S Bangarappa, his rival in Shikaripura constituency.
Speaking to media in Bangalore on Saturday, B T Lalitha Nayak said that Yeddyurappa should immediately apologise to Bangarappa.
