JD(S) worker caught with illegal money
Madhugiri, dhns: Illegal cash which had been stored in the house of a JD(S) worker here, has been recovered by the police. Based on definite information, Election Officer Tulasimadineni and police officials raided the house of Janata Dal (Secular) worker and owner of Ananth Studio Ananthakrishnaraju and recovered, cash concealed in the refrigerator and the cupboard and recovered Rs 1.10 lakh cash.
When the Election Officer inquired about the cash, which was available without any supporting document, Ananthkrishnaraju is said to have replied that the cash belong to him.
The police department is conducting further investigations. Deputy Superintendent of Police Chennabasavaiah, Circle Inspector Manjunath Babu, Sub Inpector Anjappa had formed the team which raided the house.
Janata Dal (Secular) candidate Gowrishankar had stayed at the house of Ananthakrishnaraju the previous night, which had lead to the suspicion of discovered so much of cash in the latter’s house during the election campaign.
Vehicles seized by police
Huliyuru, dhns: Police sources have informed that vehicles which are being utilised for election purpose, without seeking prior permission of the Election Commission, have been seized by them.
Vehicles belonging to each of the parties - including the Janata Dal (Secular), Janata Dal (United), Bahujan Samaj Party and the Congress - which have not sought the permission of the Election Commission - have been seized by the police and have been handed over to the judicial custody, as per the instructions of the Election Officer, according to the sources in the police department.
