Eminent scientist and former director of National Aeronautical Laboratory (NAL), Dr Roddam Narasimha on Sunday said it is the duty of every citizen to take steps to protect the rich cultural and historical heritage of the country.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Centenary Celebrations of ‘The Mythic Society’ here, Dr Narasimha called for protection of the cultural ethos of India that has earned admiration from foreigners since time immemorial. “It is indeed laudable to see the society complete a glorious one hundred years in contributing to preservation of history and culture” he added.
Historian Dr Suryanath Kamat who also spoke on the occasion said, “There are 40,000 books in the society library that is a storehouse of knowledge to the youth.The government has given the society a grant of Rs 1 crore during the centenary year.” Mythic Society will hold special lecture sessions every month to celebrate its century.
