Out of the 400 students who wrote the exam, 295 have passed in the exam. 126 girls have got first class and 92 of them second class while 73 of them had to be content with pass class. Principal G Dasharath who spoke to Deccan Herald expressed his satisfaction over the performance. Government PU Boys College got only 38% result in the exams. Out of the 386 students who wrote the exam only 146 of them managed to pass.
Santhosh college in the town managed to get 70% results as 23 of the 35 students who wrote the exams passed. In Government PU college, Kamasandra where 145 students had taken the exam only 64 of them managed to pass.
Srinivaspur
The Byraveshwara Vidhyaniketan in Byrappanapalli village in the taluk has got 90% results in the PU exams. Out of the 120 students who took the exam 108 of them passed in the exams with 16 students getting distinction. Nearly 61 have got first class and 30 of them managed with second class. Only one student has got pass class, said Institution’s Secretary M Srirama Reddy.
Vidhyaniketan’s P Ashwini is the top scorer with 562 marks followed by Naresh with 558 marks and P C Rashmi Reddy with 542 marks.
Apart from this Government PU Boys College and Girls College in the taluk has got 39.52% and 39.6% results respectively in the exams.
Chikkaballapur
Chikkaballapur district has got an over all pass percentage of 34.68%. Gowribidanur taluk in the district has got the highest passing percentage of 44.50% followed by Chintamani with 44.50% and Bagepalli with 32.36%. Where as district head quarters and taluk Chikkaballapur got 28.20%. Shildlaghatta was close to Chikkaballapur with 26.32% while Gudibande recorded the lowest of all with 16.31% students passing in the exams.
A total of 12,743 students took the exam this time out which 4,419 students passed. The numbers include the repeaters. Off the 9670 freshers who wrote the exam 3842 students passed in the exam taking the passing percentage to 39.73.
Sathya Sai College in Muddenahalli village in the taluk has got the highest passing percentage of 98.85 followed by BGS PU college in Agalagurki with 75.40%. City based Sir MV college and Government PU College have secured 25.61% and 21.05% respectively.
Nearly 9 students have secured distinction in Sathya Sai college. Another 65 have got first class followed by 9 students who second class.
In BGS college 10 students have secured distinction followed by 98 students who secured first class and 52 students who got second class.
In Panchagiri College 10 have secured first class followed by 12 who secured second class in the exams.
Chintamani
Chintamani’s Venkatadri college is emerged one of the few colleges which have achieved very good results in the PU exams. The college has a passing percentage of 95 per cent. M S Akshata, a science student has secured 583 marks (97.1%) in the exams and is within the first five ranks at state-level and stands first in district-level, said Principal Beere Gowda.
A total of 243 students wrote the exam for the year 2007-08, out of which 230 passed with 54 students securing distinction. Nearly 134 students secured first class followed by 30 students who got second class and 12 who got pass class.
100 out of 100
Akshata has got 100 out of 100 in three subjects and has made the district proud. College’s other toppers are; K S Amrutha-577 marks, Chayadevi-560 marks, S Ashwini-559 marks, N Rajsekhar-559 marks, V C Naveen-558 marks, Kousalya-557 marks, Chakravarthy-555 marks, J Namrata-554 marks and A S Nitya-552 marks.
The college has been getting the top position from many years now and is providing good education in the rural area.
Malur
The PU college in the town has managed to get 49% results in the PU exams. Nearly 194 students from Science wrote the exam of which nearly 104 students passed in the exam. From Commerce 184 students had taken the exam of whom 115 passed in the exam. But the passing percentage was low in Arts as only 97 students passed in the exam compared to the 267 students who took the exam.
S N Rashmi stood first in Science with 504 marks, Netravati with 531 marks stood first in Commerce and Suresh with 469 marks was the topper in Arts. Principal Lalita Kumari has personally congratulated the achievers.
