Unable to repay loans he had taken, a person from Bangalore, committed suicide along with his two children by jumping into Kunigal Doddakere in the early hours on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as T K Rangaswamy (45), a resident of Kamakshipalya in Bangalore.
A native of Thimmasandra village of Hebbur hobli in Kunigal taluk, Rangaswamy is a partner of V L Marketing, a company in Bangalore, which sells domestic appliances.
He had taken a loan of Rs 40,000 to improve his business from a Co-operative Bank in Mahalakshmipuram and was repaying it whenever it was possible for him.

On April 27, about eight persons from the bank arrived at his house and seized items from his home.
Upset with this incident, Rangaswamy decided to commit suicide on the same day. Since it was the Gramadevatha festival at Thimmasandra village on that day, he decided to postpone his decision.
On Saturday night he took his two children - Pooja (7) and Bharat (11) in his car and drove them to Kunigal.
On Sunday morning, he arrived at Doddakere and pushed his children into the tank and later on, jumped into it.

The public who had gathered there for their morning walks, and witnessed the incident, were in a rude shock.
They immediately informed the police who arrived there with the fire fighting personnel and tried to fish out the
bodies. Pooja’s body was recovered first. Bharat and Rangaswamy’s bodies were discovered later on from the canal, attached to the Doddakere.
When Rangaswamy’s car was searched by the police, they found several documents and records which depicted the entire story.
Letters written to the Kamakshipalya police and media were also discovered which explained the plight of Rangaswamy. The police have registered a case in this regard are undertaking further action.
