Demanding an immediate release of Tibetans detained in China-occupied Lhasa who were protesting peacefully for an independent status to Tibet, Buddhist monks in Tibetan refugee camp in Bailukuppe near here staged a protest.
The protest was led by the Bailukuppe Youth Congress, Tibetan Women’s Organisation and Committee for Tibet’s rights and rejuvination. Hundreds of monks participated in the protest.
