The district has registered 54.02 pass percentage this year in the PUC result and with this, the district has dwindled to 6th position in the State as against 5th position last year.
District has bagged 54.17 per cent in Arts, 64.67 per cent in commerce and 44.43 per cent in Science.
The number of girls have out done the number of boys as 4,698 boys and 5,219 girls appeared for the examination from all the three streams, making a total of 9,917 students of which 5,357 students have successfully passe the examinations.
Of the students who have passed the examinations, 2,286 are boys and 3,071 are girls. Boys have got a percentage of 48.66 while girls have bagged 58.84 per cent.
Of the 6,291 students who wrote the examination from Art, 3,408 passed, 1,080 students passed in Commerce out of 1,670 students and 869 students out of 1,956 students passed in science stream.
About 8,366 students were appearing for the first time, 619 were appearing as private and 932 were writing their supplement papers.
