Congress leaders lost common sense: DV
DH News Service, Mangalore:

In retaliation for the statements of Congress leaders, BJP State President D V Sadananda has stated that the Congress leaders have lost their common sense, after exhausting under the fear of defeat.

Addressing press persons here on Sunday, he said incapable of convincing people of their visions, Congress leaders are using the way of misguiding the voters by making false propaganda. “Both Mr Janardhana Poojary and Mr Veerappa Moily have started directing separate serials,” he ridiculed.

Congress does not have even the courage of fielding a candidate against Mr B S Yeddyurappa, whom BJP has been depicting as the chief ministerial candidate. In spite of the stringent regulations of the Election Commission, BJP has been successfully approaching each and every voter. All circumstances indicate that the party would get a clear majority, Mr Gowda added.

Inflation, arrack ban

Critising Congress leader M Veerappa Moily’s comments on the arrack ban initiated by the previous government, District President Monappa Bhandary said if Congress believes in Mahatma Gandhi’s vision of arrack-free society, he (Moily) should justify his statement.

He also regretted that Mr Janardhana Poojary, being a former Finance minister, should not have tried to create ignorance among people by saying that BJP is responsible for inflation.

The party spokesperson M Shankar Bhat said Mr Veerappa Moily, being the author of ‘Ramayana Mahanveshanam’ should not have spoken so lightly regarding Ram Mandir. “I doubt he has been into plagiarism,” he added.

National leaders

Mr Monappa Bhandary also informed that the party senior leader Sushma Swaraj will campaign in Belthangady on May 8, while Opposition leader L K Advani will visit Sullia on May 11.

'Proper action in proper time'

When asked about Puttur BJP leader Ram Bhat’s challenge that let the party expel him if it is possible, Mr Sadananda Gowda said, it is left to the discretion of the state unit. “We will take a proper action in a proper time, possibly after the elections,” he said. The party had expelled three members including rebel candidate T Shakunthala Shetty on Friday.
