Productivity Committees
New Delhi, May 4.

The All-India Manufacturers’ Organisation (AI-MO) today suggested the setting up of productivity committees by the industries with labour participation, to carry the productivity drive in the country to the plant level.

In a resolution adopted at its 18th annual conference here, the AIMO welcomed the constitution of the National Productivity Council by Government.

Plan Programme Divided Into Parts
New Delhi, May 4.

The National Development Council today adopted a resolution retaining the target total outlay of the Second Five-Year Plan at Rs 4,800 crore but dividing it into two parts covering varying priorities for different schemes. According to the resolution, Part ‘A’ of the Plan involves a total outlay of Rs 4,500 crores .

‘PD Ordinance Will Not Be Misused’
Bangalore, May 4.

Chief Minister Ramakrishna Hegde has allayed all fears that has Government would misuse the proposed, ordinance to detain goondas and the other three categories of anti-social elements.

Participating in the State-level convention of Janata Party workers here today, Mr Hegde strongly defended his Government’s move to pass such a law.
