Noted film maker Prabodh Mukherji passed away at a private hospital here following a cardiac arrest. He was 88.
Mukherji is survived by wife and two sons —Tapan and Basu, who are in the distribution business. The end came at 11: 55 pm on Saturday night at Nanavati Hospital where he had been hospitalised for the last one week, his son Basu Mukherji said.
Prabodh was the younger brother of Sashdhar and Subodh Mukherji. He produced several films like Shammi Kapoor starrer Junglee, April fool, Sharmili, Love Marriage, Shagird, Abhinetri, Ladke Baap se badke and Mr Romeo.
Prabodh was partner in the Subodh Mukherji productions along with his brother Subodh.
He handled the finances while Subodh was the creative partner involved in producing, scripting, and direction.
The funeral was held at Santacruz crematorium on Sunday.
