Former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy promised the supporters of former legislator M Bhaktavatsalam that if Bhaktavatsalam emerges victorious in the forthcoming Assembly elections, he would be given ministerial berth.
Addressing the gathering at an election rally here on Monday, Mr Kumaraswamy also assured the residents that a factory which would give employment to nearly 10,000 people and a medical college will be sanctioned.
He also exuded confidence in bagging majority seats. He said JD(S) would win at least 89 seats in the first phase of the elections. He also said sarcastically that the party wouldn’t bait the voters with colour TV or any such things. In stead the priority would be given to undertake projects and schemes that would make the citizens self-reliant.
He also reinstated that the regional party needs to be strengthened to achieve comprehensive development of the State. Illustrating Tamil Nadu case with regard to water, border and language disputes, he regretted the Union Government never supported Karnataka.
Speaking on the occasion, former minister Alangur Srinivas assured the voters of providing basic facilities, not to take out eviction drive against malls in MG Market. District President Venkatashivareddy, Bangarpet candidate Sheshu and CMC members were present on the occasion.
