Police playing partisan politics, says BJP
DH News Service, Chikkaballapur:

The BJP activists on Sunday night stormed the office of the sub-divisional officer condemning the behaviour of the police towards the BJP candidate and the party activists in the city.

The police are unnecessarily tormenting the BJP activists. They dragged the party activists, who were standing in front of the temple into the jail, without any provocation.

Also, SI Shiva Prasad has behaved in a disrespectful manner towards the BJP candidate from the constituency, the protesters accused.

Background

On Sunday night BJP candidate P S Prakash and several leaders like Agalagurki Chandrashekar, Srikanth Bhat and others were standing in front of the Venkataramanaswamy temple and having a talk.

At the same time SI arrived in his jeep and dragged Agalagurki Chandrashekar, Srikanth Bhat into it. Moreover, the SI behaved in a rude manner with Mr Prakash, who questioned the act of the police, the protesters stated.

Bad behaviour

Also, when Mr Prakash approached the police in the station to enquire the reasons for putting the leaders behind bars, the police humiliated and also tried to arrest our leader, the protesters accused.

Strict action needs to be initiated against such officials, the protesters added.

The police are seizing the BJP vehicles for just displaying the party flag. However, the candidates belonging to the other political parties are allowed to go scot free despite violating the model code of conduct, the BJP activists observed.

Partial

The police are being very partial with regard to the exercising of their duty, they added.

Strict action needs to be taken against the erring official or else we will stage an indefinite dharna in front of the sub-divisional office, said P S Prakash.

However, Sub-divisional officer Dr Arundathi Chandrashekar and DySP Nanaiah pacified the protesters. Also, they assured that such action would not be repeated in the future.
