BJP is making all out efforts to win as many constituencies as possible in the district.
This time party has fielded its candidate in all the constituencies, i,e 11 constituencies. Though smitten by the past experience (referring to the 2004 elections where it won only two seats out of the 13) the party wants to encash on the sympathy wave in the district and has correspondingly started a rigorous campaign.
BJP believes that it is a equal contender for all the seats along with Congress and JD(S).
The strength in the party’s claim will be proved by the end of the month when the election results will be declared.
BJP leader and Chikkanayakanahalli candidate Kiran Kumar spoke candidly on the BJP’s approach in the election.
*BJP faces stiff competition from JD(S). Can win 6 to 8 constituencies in the district. First around of campaign is already over with national leaders taking part in it.
*The rebellion in the party it is completely pacified now. Though there is a rebellion in the Madhugiri taluk it is not a major one. One of the reason for Ashwathnarayana Reddy not getting the ticket is he was not a BJP worker originally.
*If party gets desired seats and gets a chance to form the government, then the party will declare Tumkur as one of the most backward districts in the state and will provide permanent drinking water supply and other basic amenities to the City.
*Illegal mining will be completely banned. And the mining resource will be used for the development of the local people by setting up industries.
