In a surprise raid conducted by the Election officer Sheshadri Reddy and CPI Ravi Prasad the officials seized illegal spirit worth Rs 15 lakh from a farm house in Gowdanahalli in Chikkanayakanahalli’s Shettikere hobli in the wee hours of Monday.
Acting on a authentic information the officials raided the house at 3 am in the morning and recovered cases filled with the spirit. It is said the spirit was being stored in the house for the purpose for distribution during the election.
Three types of spirit has been found in the 965 cases that were seized. The officials were also successful in seizing a lorry laden with the spirit cases and two two-wheelers.
A case has been registered on Rajappa who is the owner of the farm house. The raid conducted by
Sheshadri Reddy and CPI Ravi Prasad was supervised by Election observer Bokani.
