If everything goes as planned, Bangalore (Nelamangala)-Mangalore road might become a four-lane expressway in three-and-a-half years. Public Works, Ports and Inland Water Transport Department Principal Secretary Sudhir Krishna said the stretch has been divided into three parts.

Work on the 81.7-km stretch between Nelamangala and Devihalli has been entrusted to M/s Lanco. “The four-laning work, at Rs 441 cr, will be done in 30 months,” he said.
