Indiranagar Club win tennis title

Indiranagar Club defeated Sadhasivanagar Club 3-0 in the final to lift the Kriida inter-club tennis tournament.

Results:

Final: Indiranagar bt Sadhasivanagar Club 3-0 (Peter Vijayakumar/ BE Amreeshwar bt Dipak Narayan/ Mahesh Karlo 6-4, 7-5; Vaidhyanathan/ Pete Peiko bt T K Kodhandaram/ Bhaskar 6-4, 5-7, 6-4; BNS Reddy w/o VT Ranganatha/ Rajasekar V).

Ashwin stars in B’lore City win

Ashwin Kumar struck an unbeaten 95 to pilot Bangalore City CC to a four-wicket win over Jayanagar Cricket Academy in the Sir M Vishveswaraiah memorial inter-academy Twenty20 Cup cricket tournament on Monday.

Chasing Jayanagar’s 187 for eight, Bangalore City reached 188 for six with three deliveries to spare.

In another match, Jayanagar Colts defeated JP Nagar Cricket Academy by five wickets.

Brief scores: Jayanagar Cricket Academy: 187/8 in 20 overs (Gautham 32, M Karthik 25; Natesh 3-37, Ashwin 2-34) lt to Bangalore City CC: 188/6 in 19.3 overs (Ashwin Kumar 95 n.o.).

JP Nagar Cricket Academy: 173 all out in 18.4 overs (Prashanth 25, Kripal Singh 26, Vijay 39; Akshay 2-33, Narendra 5-30) lt to Jayanagar Colts: 174/5 in 17.4 overs (Adarsh 47, Manjunath 33, Vinay 66; Prashanth 2-22).

Prajwal fashions Best’s victory

Riding on Prajwal’s all-round show (2/36 and 45), Best Club defeated Herons CC by one-wicket in a nail-biting finish in the inter-camp cricket tournament on Monday.

Brief scores: Herons CC: 166/7 in 27 overs (Santosh 31, Balasubramanya 47, Kushal 31, Anish 32; Krishnan 3-31, Prajwal 2-36) lt to Best Club: 168/ 9 IN 26.4 overs (Prajwal 45, Sharath 28; Manish 2-29, Kushal 2-25).

Powered by a century from Tejas (104), Raghu Cricket Academy scored a facile 131-run win over Star Cricket Club in the Brigade Group under-15 inter-camp cricket tournament organised by Bangalore Cricketers.

ICA chess tournament

Innovators Chess Academy will conduct a chess tournament for children and also in the Open category at the State Youth Centre on May 10 and 11.
