Vodafone, on Tuesday, announced that it had signed an agreement with Apple to sell the iconic iPhone to its subscribers in 10 countries, including India.
“Later this year, Vodafone customers in Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, India, Italy, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey will be able to purchase the iPhone for use on the Vodafone network,” the telecom operator said in a statement.
iPhone is a touch-screen handset that combines the iPod player, a video player and a web browser.
Vodafone announced it was slashing its STD tariffs to Rs 1.30 per minute across the country and roaming charges to Rs 1 for all incoming and local outgoing calls. While roaming, an outgoing STD call would cost the user Rs 1.50 per minute.
