The anxiety of the candidates is on the rise with only four days remaining for the State Assembly elections.
They are engrossed in calculating the various strategies that needs to be devised to lure the voters.
Chikkaballapur is declared a general constituency after a span of three decades. There has been certain changes in the Chikkaballapur constituency after the delimitation process.
With the delimitation process in effect D Palya belonging to the Chikkaballapur constituency is now part of Gowribidanur, while Manchenahalli, which was earlier part of Chikkaballapur is now part of Gowribidanur.
Though there are 13 candidates in the battle ring there is tough competition between K P Bachche Gowda of JD(S), S V Ashwath Narayan Reddy of Congress and P N Prakash of BJP. Though the Congress has won eight times in the Chikkaballapur constituency, its victory this time is not assured. The dissidence in the Congress party will prove advantageous to the JD(S).
