The members of the organisation staged a protest and submitted MoU to the election officer in the city.
The Sri Rama Reddy Drinking Water Project which passes through Pavagad is to provide water to Madakshira taluk in Ananthpur district via Kalyandurg path from the Tunga Bhadra dam, said V Nagabushan Reddy, State President of the National Kisan Organisation.
Though the project passes through the Pavagad region, none of the representatives from this region have sought water from the project, which benefits Andhra Pradesh alone, he added.
The people of the Pavagad region are receiving drinking water once in 20 days. Several villages in the taluk are reeling under severe water crisis, he said.
Thus, the people should ask the candidates about solving the drinking water crisis first, when they approach them to cast their votes, appealed Mr Nagabushan Reddy. State Vice President Anjaneyalu, City Unit President Narasimha Reddy and others took part in the protest.
