There is no question of neglecting any polling booth in the district as every one is considered sensitive, said SP Seemanth Kumar Singh.
Speaking at a press conference held at his office he said that Thursday is the last day for the campaign meetings and added that lot of attention will be given to election activites on May 9 and 10. Mr Singh said that a tight security has been organised in the district with 14 companies consisting 1,500 paramilitary being deployed in the district in addition an equal number of police force.
He said that 14 companies consists of BSF, CRPF, RPF and Gujarat Reserved Police who all have experience relating to elections. Futher they have direct order from Election officer. Mr Singh said that the district has been peaceful for all these days and political parties and candidates had supported this effort. But said that their support was necessary even in future. In all 36 vehicles belonging to different political parties have been seized owing to the violation of the poll conduct, briefed Singh who added that Excise Department is also deeply involved in the work.
He said that in order to curb the anti-social elements 158 cases have already been registered, rowdy sheeters have been arrested and remanded to judicial coustody. Further warrant has been issued to the 420 people in addition to another 160 people, he said. All these people are missing and if they appear at the polling booth they will be directly arrested, added Singh. The value of the seized vehicle runs up to Rs 30 lakh, he said.
