Addressing a rally as a part of election campaign for Raichur city candidate former MLA A Papareddy and Raichur rural candidate Basangouda Daddal on Thursday at Mahatma Gandhi stadium here, he said Gujarat has only one Narmada river and the people are getting 24 hours of water, but in Raichur there are two rivers Krishna and Tungabhadra river and farmers in half the area are not getting water for irrigation.
Modi said Karnataka has the potential to reach greater heights than Gujarat and called upon the people to vote decisively in favour of stable government.
On inflation and food shortage Modi claimed that under the NDA led by BJP, the nation had an abundance of food grains, while the Congress led UPA has been importing food grains at unjustifiably high prices. In a veiled reference to the JDS and the Congress he said the voters would teach a lesson to those who had killed democracy in the state.
