Poolside, at The Leela Palace joins France in their Beaujolais Nouveau Day celebrations on November 15. The French community in Bangalore is celebrating this day in grand style and opulence. The poolside will be lit up specially to enjoy this joyful time of the year. The Beaujolais Nouveau is one of the most awaited wines of the year and it adds more sparkle to the festive season.
Beaujolais Nouveau is a young wine harvested in fall and sold before spring. It is sold and consumed within six weeks of the harvest. A wine of the Gamay variety, the only purple-coloured variety of grapes allowed to be used in Beaujolais Nouveau, this wine is as about close to white wine as a red wine can get. Served chilled it makes for a festive wine that is meant to be gulped down rather than sipped and enjoyed by all in high spirits.
