'Gold mine property transferred to BEML'  
The workers' union have accused the BEML, a Central government undertaking of encroaching upon hundreds of acres of land belonging to the Kolar Gold Fields.
Private people grabbing institute property  
The Sir MV Memorial Educational Institution Welfare Committee has alleged that a few private parties are trying to grab the property belonging to the institution, which was started 45 years ago.
Govardhanagiri a retreat from daily humdrum life  
Govardhanagiri which is next to the Nandi village is one among the famous holy places in the taluk. In the midst of nature and at the foot of Nandi hills, Govardhanagiri is also a well known spiritual centre.

Illicit liquor seized  
The State vigilance officers and the excise officials seized a lorry which was transporting materials of illicit liquor and labels of various brands illegally, at Kadiradyavarahalli near Gouribidanur.
