Champions Karnataka State Police defeated ITI 25-20, 25-23, 22-25, 25-18 to set up a title clash with MEG in the Senior State ‘A’ division volleyball league here on Saturday.
The Sappers cruised past CIL 25-22, 25-18, 25-22 in the second semifinals.
In a 63-minute encounter held under lights at the Lal Bahadur Shastri courts here, KSP called the shots from the word go against ITI, spiker Babu leading their charge with his lethal spikes.
KSP, who have not lost a single match in the 11-team league so far, maintained their winning streak with a solid attacking game that left the ITI defence crumbling.
Ravindra excelled with his serves, and poor reception didn’t help the ITI cause either.
KSP took the first set 25-20. Though the second set witnessed a close battle with both teams going neck and neck, the Cops had the final say. ITI pulled one back in the third set, mainly due to some clever blocking by Saravana, with most of their attacks centred around Sampath Kumar.
However, KSP were quick to recover ground and closed out the contest by coasting to a 25-18 victory in the fourth set.
