Speaking at the 258th anniversary celebrations of Tipu Sultan’s birth, Mr Patel said that many posts in boards and corporations have been vacant for a long time.
“I agree in previous coalitions, our party had delayed appointments for boards and corporations. We will not delay them further. I have set a deadline of seven days for filling up vacancies,” he added.
Mr Patel said that the JD(S) will not continue to support the BJP for even a day, if the saffron party-led government fails to safeguard welfare of minorities and backward classes. The party will not tolerate any decision disturbing communal harmony in the state, he added.
He said that during the BJP-JD(S) rule, the Tipu Bhavan will be set up in Bangalore City.
The previous government had allotted five acres of land for Haj Committee, he informed, adding that in the coming days, the committee will take possession of the land.
Deaths
Reacting to a question on the death of three persons, reportedly workers of the JD(S), in a clash in K K Hal in Bellary district, Mr Patel said he will visit the families of the deceased. “According to party MLA Suryanarayana Reddy, BJP leaders are behind the killings. But Superintendent of Police of Bellary denies that. The party will react to the deaths once the details of incidents are out,” he said.
