With 11 acres and 20 guntas of land — spread over 12 sites in Bangalore North (Additional) Taluk — going under the hammer, the Department clocked returns that were modest but an improvement on the abysmal response in the recent auctions.
Big catch
Of the 12 sites, only one fetched less than the guidance value in the area. The big catch of the day was a mere two-gunta site in Singahalli Village (see box) which was auctioned at an impressive Rs 11 lakh (around 880 per cent of the guidance value).
Two small sites in Tindlu Village also fetched good returns for the Department. While a 1.25-gunta site went at Rs 13 lakh (237.71 per cent of the guidance value), a 1.75-gunta site was auctioned at Rs 17 lakh (222.04 per cent of the guidance value).
