However, the committee headed by noted artist Srinivas G Kappanna proposed installation of digital audio and lights. “Hence, it costed Rs 2.8 crore,” he said. Mr Murthy said that people from Shilpa Kala Academy have done sculptures and placed at the auditorium premises.
He said that one year maintenance contract is given to the people who have installed the audio and light system. “Earlier, we used to receive a lot of complaints regarding lights and audio systems. Now, we have given the contract to installers to maintain the lights and audio,” he added.
Inaugurating the auditorium, Principal Secretary of Public Works Department Sudheer Krishna said that he has received a memorandum to renovate Town hall. “Since, town hall comes under BBMP, we cannot do anything about it. However, we will speak to BBMP and if they permit us to do the changes, then we are willing to do it,” he said.
