Banjara Academy’s residential camp
A two day residential camp entitled "Where am I headed?" is being organised by the Banjara Academy. Debate at NLSIU
The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) is all set to host the 6th edition of their international debate between November 1 and 4, 2007. The annual debate, organised by the Literary and Debating Society, was first held in 2002 and has ever since, seen an ever-growing participation from teams across India and South Asia as well.
The debate is basically modelled on the Parliamentary-style format and is for the most part similar to those followed at the World and All-Asian Championships incorporating a '3-on-3' style.
The primary aim of the parliamentary style of debating is to introduce and cultivate in students, constructive thinking on issues which affect and influence human societies all over the world. The ethos of the NLS Debate has always been to promote the Parliamentary style of Debating in South Asia, and it welcomes the growing trend of newer institutions adopting this format.
From the time it started in 2002, NLSIU has strived to encourage participation from prestigious schools all over South Asia and has succeeded in the same. The participation of teams from the SAARC nations Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh over the last 5 years has added to the prestige and grandeur of this debating event.
The international spirit of the debate is reflected by the varied nationalities of the past winners of this event. The Faculty of Law, Colombo walked away with the rolling trophy at the 5th NLS Debate outdoing their close competitor, Ramjas College, New Delhi. The past winners include lIT Delhi and University College, Lahore.
This year's event, which is being sponsored by Kotak Mahindra, will witness as many as 50 colleges engaging in a battle of wit and wisdom for the top honours in debating excellence which includes a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.
The debate seeks to serve as a platform for students from various countries to network and exchange ideas and hopes to inculcate in them a healthy spirit of competition.

Interior design course
