Today is November 1, a day that has special significance to all Kannadigas across the world. Last year, the State Government kicked off celebrations of Golden Jubilee of statehood on November 1.

The first web portal on Kannada cinema, chitraloka.com is bringing a special treat to net users across the globe. Kannada film Rajadurgada Rahasya, starring Dr Rajkumar, Bharathi, Udayakumar, Narasimha Raju and others will be webcast on the portal.

Says K M Veeresh of the portal, “we wanted to celebrate our achievements in this landmark year and at the same time give Kannadigas a worthwhile Kannada Rajyotsava gift. By webcasting this film, chitraloka intends to make rare and classic Kannada films available to overseas Kannadigas as well.”

Chitraloka.com has already had several achievements to its credit. The portal conducted an exhibition of rare stills of many Kannada films that traced the history of Kannada Cinema, that is more than 70 years old. This feat earned the portal an entry in Limca Book of Records as well. Net users can also listen to songs from latest Kannada films on the site.
