90 Indians held for protests
Ninety Indians have been charged for indulging in violence following the weekend protests demanding better wages and working conditions at a labour camp here even as UAE authorities decided not to deport those detained for taking part in the stir, reports PTI from Dubai.

A total of 159 workers including 90 Indians have been charged, an Indian diplomat said.

President arrives in Kerala
President Pratibha Patil arrived in Kerala on Wednesday with her husband Devi Singh Shekhawat. It’s her maiden visit to the state after assuming office, DHNS reports from Thiruvananthapuram.

Ms Patil will attend a civic reception organised by the state government. She will also launch the Clean Kerala Mission. The President would leave here for Chennai on November 2 morning.

Abhishek shoots at the Taj Mahal
Actor Abhishek Bachchan on Wednesday shot a TV commercial of a cellphone  firm at the Taj Mahal.

His wife Aishwarya Rai, mother Jaya Bachchan and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh accompanied him.

Sources said while Abhishek left for the shoot, the rest of his group went to Saleem Chisti Dargah in Fatehpur Sikri.
