Some prominent drivers, along with a bunch of novices, will battle for top honours in the JK Tyre Prosports TDS rally between Bangalore and Chikmagalur on November 3 and 4.
Sujith Kumar, Director of Prosports, said on Wednesay the rally for four wheelers will follow the Time-Distance- Speed format, and will start at the Ambedkar stadium on November 3.
The first leg of 364 km will run from Ambedkar stadium through Kangeri Satellite town, Mysore Road, Maddur, Mandya, Mysore and Chamundi Hills on its way to Hassan. The second leg of 170 km will take the Belur - Birur - Kadur route and conclude at the Vasanthcool Estates in Chikmagalur on Sunday.
The organisers expect 30 in-car teams of two each to participate. Mysore’s Rohit Urs, Chikmagalur lad Girija Shankar Joshi and Shresta Patil start favourites while National Road Racing champion TK Vishwanath is trying his luck in a four-wheeler for the first time. The first place among professionals is worth Rs 20,000 while the second and third -place finishers will get Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively. The top three in the novice category will get Rs 10,000, Rs 7,500 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
