More than 150 non-permanent workers of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited  (BSNL) staged a protest outside the General Manager’s office on Raj Bhavan Road on Thursday demanding attention to their demands.

District president of the Union Mr Selvaraj said BSNL has not paid bonus, ESI and PF to more than 5000 non permanent workers in the state.

“Though a majority of us are working in Bangalore for the past ten years, we have been deprived of these benefits. We have also petitioned the labour court and submitted memorandums to the General Manager, but of no avail” he said.

The Union says it would stage another protest outside Chief General Manager’s office on Old Madras Road on December 4 and 5 if BSNL does not hear their grievances.
