I would strive to realise Gandhiji's dreams: BSY
DH News Service, Tumkur:
'I would strive towards realising the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi regarding Grama Swarajya, after assuming charge as the Chief Minister of the State,' stated B S Yeddyurappa, CM-designate here on Sunday.

Mr Yeddyurappa was speaking to reporters after his visit to his family deity Yediyuru Siddaligeshwara Temple at Kunigal along with his family on Sunday. He said that his first preference would be to reduce the traffic congestion in Bangalore which has gone haywire.

Adding that he is a man from RSS, he assured that he would give special preference to the welfare of dalits, farmers and other neglected sections of the society.

Still relevant

Speaking about Baburao Deshpande, Jagannath Rao Joshi and others, he said that, it was these who were responsible to build RSS, while adding that the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr B R Ambedkar are still relevant to this day. But he did not give proper opinion to questions on Hindutwa and night stay at villages.

After his darshan at the Siddalingeshwara Temple, he visited the Siddaganga Mutt in Tumkur and sought the blessings of Dr Sri Shivakumar Seer.

However, Mr Yeddyurappa was given a grand welcome by his admirers all the way from Kunigal, Yediyur and Tumkur which was decorated with BJP flags and banners.

Local BJP leader B Suresh Gowda left no stone unturned to ensure a grand welcome to Yeddyurappa, who is all set to become the first BJP Chief Minister in South India.

Member of Legislative Assembly S Shivanna, K S Kiran Kumar and other Bharatiya Janatha Party leaders were present.
